تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. wash اصطلاح روزمره و عمومی است. lave بسیار رسمیتر، شاعرانهتر یا قدیمیتر است و معمولاً برای بافتهای خاصی (مانند رودخانهای که ساحلی را میشوید یا شستشوی آیینی) رزرو شده است.
Common. 'Wash' is the everyday, general term. 'Lave' is much more formal, poetic, or archaic and typically reserved for specific contexts (e.g., a river 'laving' a shore, or a ritual washing). You would say 'I washed my hands,' not 'I laved my hands.'
رایج. bathe به معنای فرو بردن خود در آب برای شستشو یا لذت است. lave بیشتر در مورد عمل شستن یک سطح یا قسمت بدن، اغلب با جریان مایع روی آن است.
Common. 'Bathe' means to immerse oneself in water for washing or pleasure. 'Lave' is more about the act of washing a surface or body part, often with liquid flowing over it. 'She bathed in the lake' works, but 'She laved her face with water' is more specific than 'bathed her face'.
