تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
فنی/رسمی. نوع خاصی از پل، که اغلب از یک سری طاق یا دهانه تشکیل شده و معمولاً جاده یا راه آهن را از روی دره یا شکاف عبور میدهد. در حالی که 'viaducts' نوعی 'bridges' هستند، همه 'bridges' 'viaducts' نیستند. وقتی بر سازه کشیده و اغلب طاقدار روی نوع خاصی از زمین تاکید دارید از 'viaduct' استفاده کنید.
Technical/Formal. A specific type of bridge, often consisting of a series of arches or spans, typically carrying a road or railway over a valley or gorge. While 'viaducts' are a type of 'bridges', not all 'bridges' are 'viaducts'. Use 'viaduct' when emphasizing the extended, often arched structure over a specific type of terrain. 'The city has many bridges' is broad, 'The train crosses an impressive viaduct' is specific.
