رسمی. در موارد رسمی یا جدی معمولاً جایگزین downplay میشود. مثلاً «آنها مشکل را کمینه کردند» مانند «ناچیز شمردند» معنی میدهد ولی minimize کمتر در مکالمات روزمره استفاده میشود.
Formal. Can replace 'downplay' especially in official or serious contexts. For example, 'They minimized the problem' works like 'they downplayed the problem' but 'minimize' is less common in casual speech.
روزمره. گاهی جایگزین downplay میشود ولی معمولاً به ارزیابی نادرست اشاره دارد نه کم اهمیت نشان دادن عمدی. «او ریسک را کم ارزیابی کرد» متفاوت از «او ریسک را ناچیز شمرد» است.
Everyday. Can sometimes replace 'downplay' but usually refers more to inaccurate assessment rather than deliberate portrayal. 'He underestimated the risk' differs from 'he downplayed the risk' in intent.
