معمول. اصطلاح روزمره برای خزندگان بدون پا و پولکدار. قابل تعویض است، اما 'serpents' اغلب مقیاسی خطرناکتر، عرفانیتر یا بزرگتر از 'snakes' را نشان میدهد.
Common. The everyday term for legless, scaly reptiles. Interchangeable, but 'serpents' often implies a more dangerous, mystical, or grand scale than 'snakes'. 'There were snakes in the garden' is common, 'Mythical serpents guarded the treasure' works better than 'snakes'.
خاص. نوعی مار سمی. فقط زمانی قابل تعویض است که به مارهای سمی و خطرناک اشاره دارد.
Specific. A type of venomous snake. Interchangeable only when referring to specifically venomous, dangerous snakes. 'Poisonous serpents' could be vipers, but 'non-venomous serpents' would not be vipers.
