رسمی. وقتی شدت کم میشود به جای subside استفاده میشود. بیشتر در نوشتار کاربرد دارد.
Formal. Interchangeable with 'subside' when talking about lessening intensity — 'The storm abated' works the same as 'The storm subsided'. Used more in writing.
روزمره. وقتی به معنی کاهش است جایگزین است ولی کاربرد وسیعتری دارد.
Common. Can replace 'subside' when meaning decrease, but 'diminish' can be used more generally beyond feelings or events. 'His anger diminished' is similar to 'His anger subsided'.
