Common. Refers to a very strong wind, typically used in weather contexts. 'A gale warning was issued' works, 'She was blown by a gale' also works, but 'She was blown by a wildwind' is less common.

Literary/Archaic. Implies a violent storm with high winds, often also involving rain or snow. More dramatic and less common than 'wildwind'. 'The tempest raged for hours' works, but 'A wildwind raged' is more modern.
