An informal and affectionate term for an aunt, or sometimes an older woman who is a close family friend.

تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. 'Aunt' اصطلاح استاندارد و رسمیتر برای خواهر پدر یا مادر یا همسر عمو است. 'Auntie' محبتآمیزتر و غیررسمیتر است. 'عمه جین من در حال بازدید است' (رسمی) در مقابل 'خاله/عمه همیشه شیرینی میپزد' (محبتآمیز).
Common. 'Aunt' is the standard, more formal term for a parent's sister or an uncle's wife. 'Auntie' is more affectionate and informal. 'My Aunt Jane is visiting' (formal) vs. 'Auntie Jane always bakes cookies' (affectionate).
غیررسمی. گاهی اوقات 'auntie' برای یک زن مسنتر بدون ارتباط خانوادگی استفاده میشود، شبیه به نحوه استفاده از 'grandma'، اما 'auntie' کمتر نشاندهنده سن است. کاملاً قابل تعویض نیست، اما لحن غیررسمی و محبتآمیز را برای یک زن مسن به اشتراک میگذارد.
Informal. Sometimes 'auntie' can be used for an older woman without a familial link, similar to how 'grandma' can be used, but 'auntie' is less indicative of age. Not truly interchangeable, but shares the informal, affectionate tone for an older female figure.
