«او از خوردن غذایی ناسالم اجتناب میکند.»
“She avoids eating junk food.”
«او از صحبت درباره سیاست دوری میکند.»

رسمی. وقتی به فرار یا طفره رفتن هوشمندانه اشاره دارد جایگزین avoid میشود؛ برای اجتناب فیزیکی از مکانها به کار نمیرود. مثلا evade taxes صحیح است ولی evade the park نه.
Formal. Can replace 'avoid' when meaning to escape or dodge intentionally, often cleverly; not used for physical avoidance of places. For example, 'evade taxes' works, but 'evade the park' does not.
رسمی/ادبی. به دوری عمدی اجتماعی یا اخلاقی اشاره دارد؛ بیشتر برای دوری از افراد یا رفتارها به کار میرود. وقتی بر رد یا ناپسندی تأکید میشود قابل جایگزین است.
Formal/literary. Implies a deliberate social or moral avoidance; used mostly for avoiding people or behaviors. Interchangeable when emphasizing rejection or disapproval.
