تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی/فنی. بالینیتر و اغلب در بافت پزشکی یا علمی استفاده میشود، اما برای اعدام نیز به کار میرود. در بافتهای رسمی تا حد زیادی با behead قابل جایگزینی است. 'جلاد زندانی را سر برید' یا 'پزشک نمونه را سر برید' کاربرد دارد. Behead برای اعدامهای تاریخی رایجتر است.
Formal/Technical. More clinical and often used in a medical or scientific context, but also for execution. It is largely interchangeable with 'behead' in formal contexts. 'The executioner decapitated the prisoner' works, 'The doctor decapitated the specimen' works. 'Behead' is more common for historical executions.
خاص. سر بریدن با استفاده از گیوتین. فقط در صورتی قابل جایگزینی است که روش اعدام به طور خاص گیوتین باشد. 'آنها پادشاه را گیوتین کردند' درست است، اما 'او با تبر گردن زده شد' از واژه guillotined استفاده نمیکند.
Specific. To behead using a guillotine. Only interchangeable if the method of execution is specifically a guillotine. 'They guillotined the king' works, but 'He was beheaded with an axe' would not use 'guillotined'.
