ادبی/رسمی. در شعرهای حماسی، «book» اغلب به جای «canto» برای نشان دادن یک تقسیمبندی اصلی استفاده میشود. «آنهاید» به کتابها تقسیم شده است، مشابه اینکه «دوزخ» دانته به کانتوها تقسیم شده است. هر دو به یک وقفه ساختاری مهم در یک شعر روایی بلند اشاره دارند.
Literary/formal. In epic poems, 'book' is often used interchangeably with 'canto' to denote a major division. 'The Aeneid' is divided into books, similar to how Dante's 'Inferno' is divided into cantos. Both refer to a significant structural break in a long narrative poem.
عادی/عمومی. یک اصطلاح کلی برای تقسیمبندی یک اثر بزرگتر. کمتر خاص و کمتر رسمی از «canto» است اما میتوان از آن استفاده کرد. به عنوان مثال، میتوانید بگویید «بخش اول شعر»، اما «first canto» برای شعر حماسی دقیقتر است.
Common/general. A general term for a division of a larger work. Less specific and less formal than 'canto' but can be used. For instance, you could say 'the first part of the poem', but 'first canto' is more precise for epic poetry.
