متداول. وقتی دربارهی رعایت دقیق قواعد یا آداب اجتماعی صحبت میشود، قابل جایگزینی است. مثلاً «شام رسمی» و «شام تشریفاتی» میتوانند مشابه باشند. «رسمی» عمومیتر و کاربرد بیشتری دارد.
Common. Interchangeable when describing strict adherence to rules or protocol in social situations. For example, 'a formal dinner' and 'a ceremonious dinner' can be similar. 'Formal' is more general and used more widely.
رسمی/ادبی. بر وقار و ظاهر باشکوه تأکید دارد و معمولاً گرانقدر بودن را نشان میدهد. در موقعیتهایی که بر جدیت یا نزاکت تأکید میشود به کار میرود. همیشه با «ceremonious» قابل جایگزینی نیست چون بیشتر بر شکوه تأکید دارد.
Formal/literary. Emphasizes dignity and impressive appearance, often with grandeur. Used in contexts highlighting solemnity or decorum. Not always interchangeable with 'ceremonious' as it stresses majesty more.
