رسمی/ادبی. برای نیاک مشترک خانوادگی، مثل «یک نیای مشترک»، میتواند جایگزین شود؛ اما در بحث علمی فرگشت کمتر به کار میرود. برای تاریخ خانوادهٔ انسانها مناسب است.
Formal/literary. It can replace 'common ancestor' for shared family ancestry, as in 'a common forebear', but it is less used in scientific evolution. Choose it for human family history.
