تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی/فنی. مستقیماً قابل تعویض است. «castrate» اصطلاح کلیتر و رسمیتر برای برداشتن بیضهها از حیوان نر (یا تخمدانها از حیوان ماده) است. «Geld» تقریباً فقط برای اسبها استفاده میشود.
Formal/Technical. Directly interchangeable, 'castrate' is the more general and formal term for removing testicles from a male animal (or ovaries from a female). 'Geld' is almost exclusively for horses. 'Vets castrate many different animals, but often geld horses.'
متداول. اغلب برای حیوانات خانگی (سگ، گربه) برای جلوگیری از تولید مثل استفاده میشود. در حالی که «geld» نوعی خنثیسازی است، «neuter» اصطلاح گستردهتری است که برای مادهها (عقیم کردن) نیز به کار میرود.
Common. Often used for companion animals (dogs, cats) to prevent reproduction. While 'geld' is a form of neutering, 'neuter' is a broader term that also applies to females (spaying). 'They decided to neuter their dog, a common practice.'
