Common. 'Pimple' is a general, everyday term for a small inflamed spot on the skin, often associated with acne and typically contains pus. 'Papule' is a more technical term, specifically for a solid bump without pus. All pimples might start as papules, but not all papules become pimples. 'She had a few pimples on her face' is common usage.
