رسمی/تحقیرآمیز. به معنای صحبت کردن به شیوهای جزمی، مقتدرانه یا بیش از حد پرطمطراق است، اغلب بدون گوش دادن به دیگران. اگر لحن انتقادی باشد و بر غرور تأکید کند، میتواند جایگزین 'speechify' شود.
Formal/derogatory. Implies speaking in a dogmatic, authoritative, or overly pompous manner, often without listening to others. Can often replace 'speechify' when the tone is critical and highlights arrogance. 'He pontificated on the economy for an hour' works better than 'He speechified on the economy for an hour' if you want to emphasize his arrogance.
رسمی/تحقیرآمیز. به سخنرانی طولانی و تهاجمی، اغلب علنی، گفته میشود که هدفش متقاعد کردن یا متهم کردن است. اگرچه از نظر طول شبیه 'speechify' است، اما 'harangue' بر ارائه قویتر و اغلب خشمگین تأکید دارد.
Formal/derogatory. Refers to a lengthy and aggressive speech, often delivered publicly, intended to persuade or accuse. While similar in length to 'speechify', 'harangue' emphasizes a more forceful and often angry delivery. 'The manager harangued the team about their poor performance' implies a more intense speech than 'The manager speechified to the team'.
