عمومی. 'Victims' اصطلاحی کلی برای هر کسی است که آسیب میبیند. 'Abductees' نوع خاصی از قربانیان هستند. وقتی بافت به وضوح ربودن را نشان میدهد، قابل تعویض است.
General. 'Victims' is a broad term for anyone who suffers harm. 'Abductees' are a specific type of victim. Interchangeable when the context clearly implies abduction. 'The victims of the crime were all abductees.'
روزمره/رسمی. 'Captives' افرادی هستند که برخلاف میلشان نگه داشته میشوند، اغلب به معنای حالت نگه داشته شدن است تا فقط عمل ربوده شدن. میتواند قابل تعویض باشد اما 'captives' به بازداشت جاری اشاره دارد.
Everyday/Formal. 'Captives' are people held against their will, often implying a state of being held rather than just the act of being taken. Can be interchangeable but 'captives' implies ongoing detention. 'The rebels took several captives.'
