The act of arresting or seizing, especially by legal authority. In Scottish law, the legal process of seizing a debtor's property or funds to satisfy a debt.

رسمی/حقوقی. به عمل تصاحب چیزی با زور یا اقتدار قانونی اشاره دارد. در معنای حقوقی بسیار نزدیک به 'arrestment' است، اما 'arrestment' در مورد توقیف اموال بدهکار در قانون اسکاتلند خاصتر است. در معنای عمومی ضبط اموال قابل جایگزینی است. مثال: 'پلیس کالاهای غیرقانونی را توقیف کرد' درست است، 'توقیف خودرو غیرقانونی بود' نیز درست است.
Formal/Legal. Refers to the act of taking possession of something by force or legal authority. Very close in meaning to 'arrestment' in its legal sense, but 'arrestment' is more specific to Scottish law for debt. Interchangeable in the general sense of taking property. Example: 'The police performed a seizure of illegal goods' works, 'The arrestment of the car was unlawful' works as well.

Legal. Refers to a legal process by which a court or government agency seizes property, funds, or goods from a defendant to satisfy a judgment or to secure the payment of a debt. Very similar to 'arrestment' in its legal context of securing debt. Example: 'The court issued an attachment order on his bank account' works well.
