رایج. زمانی که هدف جلوگیری با کاهش انگیزه یا اعتماد به نفس است جایگزین deter میشود؛ مثلا قانون دلسرد کننده سرقت است. همیشه مترادف نیست وقتی معنای ترساندن یا تنبیه دارد.
Common. Interchangeable in contexts where the aim is to prevent an action by reducing enthusiasm or confidence, e.g. 'The law discourages theft.' Not always synonymous when 'deter' implies fear or punishment.
رایج. اغلب جایگزین میشود ولی prevent به معنای جلوگیری کامل است و deter فقط بازدارنده است؛ مثلا قفلها از سرقت جلوگیری میکنند مقابل بازدارنده سرقتاند.
Common. Often interchangeable, but 'prevent' implies stopping an action entirely, while 'deter' implies discouragement but not absolute prevention; e.g. 'Locks prevent theft' vs. 'Locks deter theft.'
