رایج. 'Disgrace' اصطلاحی قوی و پرکاربرد برای شرم یا از دست دادن احترام است که اغلب به دلیل یک عمل رخ میدهد. اگرچه مشابه 'disreputation' است، اما 'disgrace' اغلب به معنای سقوطی فوریتر و شدیدتر از اعتبار عمومی است.
Common. 'Disgrace' is a strong, widely understood term for shame or loss of respect, often due to an action. While similar to 'disreputation', 'disgrace' often implies a more immediate and severe fall from public esteem. 'He brought disgrace upon his family' works, 'He brought disreputation upon his family' is less common.
رسمی/ادبی. 'Infamy' به معنای مشهور بودن به خاطر چیزی بد یا مجرمانه، شهرتی از شرارت شدید است. بسیار قویتر و شدیدتر از 'disreputation' است.
Formal/Literary. 'Infamy' implies being well-known for something bad or criminal, a reputation of extreme wickedness. It's much stronger and more severe than 'disreputation'. 'The infamy of his crimes' works, 'The disreputation of his crimes' is awkward.
