فنی، پزشکی. این اصطلاح جمعی برای سه پرده (سختشامه، عنکبوتیه، نرمشامه) است که مغز و نخاع را محصور میکنند. 'Dura' فقط به بیرونیترین لایه اشاره دارد، نه هر سه لایه.
Technical, medical. This is the collective term for the three membranes (dura mater, arachnoid mater, pia mater) that enclose the brain and spinal cord. 'Dura' refers only to the outermost layer, not all three. 'The meninges protect the central nervous system' works, but 'The dura protects the central nervous system' is less encompassing.
