فنی/دریانوردی. به بخشی از کناره کشتی اشاره دارد که از عرشه اصلی بالاتر میآید، اغلب برای محافظت. 'Bulwarks' معمولاً بلندتر و محکمتر از 'gunwales' هستند که دقیقاً لبه بالایی هستند. 'نردههای محافظ ملوانان را از امواج محافظت میکرد' درست است، 'او به نردههای محافظ تکیه داد' نیز رایج است.
Technical/Nautical. Refers to the part of a ship's side that extends above the main deck, often for protection. 'Bulwarks' are typically higher and more substantial than 'gunwales', which are strictly the top edge. 'The bulwarks protected sailors from waves' works, 'He leaned on the bulwarks' is also common.
