However, 'lease payment' is a broader term that can apply to any leased asset, such as cars or equipment, where 'rent' might not be suitable. 'My monthly rent is high' works. 'My monthly lease payment for the car is high' works, but 'My monthly rent for the car is high' doesn't sound natural.
