باندهای کوتاه از بافت همبند رشتهای، سخت و انعطافپذیر که دو استخوان یا غضروف را به هم متصل میکنند یا یک مفصل را کنار هم نگه میدارند.
Short bands of tough, flexible, fibrous connective tissue which connect two bones or cartilages or hold together a joint.

تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
فنی/آناتومیک. 'تاندونها' عضله را به استخوان متصل میکنند، در حالی که 'رباطها' استخوان را به استخوان متصل میکنند. اغلب با هم اشتباه گرفته میشوند اما عملکردهای متفاوتی دارند.
Technical/Anatomical. 'Tendons' connect muscle to bone, whereas 'ligaments' connect bone to bone. They are often confused but have distinct functions. 'A torn tendon' is different from 'a torn ligament'.
کهن/ادبی. اصطلاحی قدیمی برای اشاره به تاندونها یا رباطها. در حالی که از نظر فنی در برخی بافتهای قدیمی قابل جایگزینی است، 'رباطها' اصطلاح دقیق آناتومیکی مدرن است.
Archaic/Literary. An old term referring to tendons or ligaments. While technically interchangeable in some older contexts, 'ligaments' is the precise modern anatomical term. 'The sinews of his arm were strong' is poetic, but in a medical context, you'd say 'ligaments'.
