پرکاربرد. وقتی به معنی تغییر دادن یا تحت تأثیر قرار دادن باشد اغلب قابل جایگزینی با affect است. مثلا influence a decision معمول است ولی affect a decision رسمیتر است.
Common usage. Often interchangeable with 'affect' when meaning to change or sway. 'Influence a decision' fits well; 'affect a decision' is more formal.
رایج و رسمی. شبیه affect است ولی تأکید بر تأثیر قوی یا ناگهانی دارد.
Common and formal. Similar to 'affect' but emphasizes a stronger or more sudden influence. 'The law impacted the economy' is common.

Formal/literary. Similar to 'affect' but less common in everyday speech. Used for deliberate faking.
