To exchange opposite views, often angrily, in a discussion or debate.

«او نظراتش را به طور قانعکنندهای بیان کرد.»
“She argued her point convincingly.”
رسمی. در بحثهای ساختارمند جایگزین argument میشود، اما برای مشاجرات روزمره مناسب نیست.
Formal. Interchangeable in contexts of structured discussion, not informal quarrels. E.g. 'They debated the policy' works, 'They debated about whose fault it was' is less natural.
غیررسمی. بیشتر به نزاع احساسی اشاره دارد و برای استدلال منطقی کاربرد ندارد.
Informal. Emphasizes emotional or angry conflict, less about logical reasoning. E.g. 'They quarreled over money' fits, but 'argued the point' does not.
