روزمره. یک باور غلط و ثابت را توصیف میکند نه یک تجربه حسی. در صورتی که بافتار به باوری ناشی از توهم اشاره داشته باشد قابل جایگزینی است، اما برای خود توهم خیر. 'او افکار هذیانی داشت' درست است، 'صداها هذیانی بودند' غلط است.
Everyday. Describes a fixed false belief rather than a sensory experience. Can be interchangeable if the context implies a belief born from a hallucination, but not for the hallucination itself. 'He had delusional thoughts' works, 'The sounds were delusional' doesn't.

Literary/formal. Describes something that seems to exist but isn't real, often used for sensations like pain or limbs. Interchangeable when referring to a sense that isn't real, like a 'phantom limb' or 'phantom smell'. 'Hallucinatory images' can sometimes be described as 'phantom images'.
