Everyday/technical. A fingerprint is an impression of the ridged pattern of a fingertip, used for identification. It's a specific type of 'print' from the hand, more detailed and used for forensics. While both are marks from the hand, a 'handprint' is broader and can be a simple outline or colored mark, while a 'fingerprint' is about the unique ridges. 'Police found fingerprints at the crime scene' works, 'My child left handprints on the wall' works.

Formal/general. An imprint is a mark or impression made by pressure, or a lasting effect or influence. It's interchangeable with 'handprint' in the sense of a physical mark left, but 'imprint' can refer to any kind of mark or even an abstract influence. 'The fossil left an imprint in the rock' works, 'The child's handprint was an imprint of their creativity' works.
