پزشکی/فنی. به پایین لغزیدن یا جلو آمدن یک عضو از موقعیت طبیعیاش، به ویژه وقتی که به خارج از بدن بیرون میزند، اشاره دارد. اغلب برای اعضایی مانند رحم یا رکتوم با herniation قابل تعویض است، اما برای بیرونزدگی بافت داخلی کمتر رایج است.
Medical/Technical. Refers to the slipping down or forward of an organ from its normal position, especially when it projects outside the body. It is often interchangeable with herniation for organs like the uterus or rectum, but less common for internal tissue protrusion.

General/Descriptive. A more general term for something sticking out from a surface. While a herniation is a type of protrusion, not all protrusions are herniations. 'Protrusion' doesn't necessarily imply a medical condition or weakness in a containing structure.
