کسی یا چیزی که به جای دیگری میآید یا جانشین او میشود.
A person or thing that follows another to take their place or position.

تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی. معمولا به کسی که ارث میبرد اشاره دارد و کمتر به موقعیتهای عمومی. فقط در زمینه وراثت جایگزین است، مثلا 'وارث تاجوتخت'.
Formal. Usually refers to one who inherits property or title, less about general positions. Interchangeable only in inheritance contexts, e.g. 'heir to the throne'.
روزمره. اصطلاح کلی برای کسی یا چیزی که جای دیگری را میگیرد؛ میتواند موقت یا دائمی باشد. از successor خنثیتر است.
Everyday. General term for someone or something that takes the place of another, but can apply to temporary or permanent. More neutral than 'successor'.
