رسمی. معمولاً در زمینه تسلیم شدن قابل جایگزینی با succumb است، اما yield گاهی به معنی تولید یا تسلیم فیزیکی است، درحالیکه succumb به شکست در مقاومت اشاره دارد.
Formal. Generally interchangeable with 'succumb' in contexts of giving in, but 'yield' can also mean to produce or give way physically, while 'succumb' implies failure to resist something negative. Example: 'He succumbed to temptation' vs. 'The bridge yielded to pressure.'

رایج. هنگام مرگ جایگزین succumb است اما succumb رسمیتر و معمولاً برای مرگ ناشی از بیماری یا جراحت به کار میرود.
