تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
روزمره. 'Sleeping' اسم فاعل است و اغلب میتواند به جای 'asleep' برای توصیف کسی در حال خواب استفاده شود. 'او در حال خوابیدن است' و 'او خوابیده است' یک معنی میدهند.
Everyday. 'Sleeping' is the present participle and can often be used interchangeably with 'asleep' to describe someone in the act of sleeping. 'He is sleeping' and 'He is asleep' mean the same.
رسمی/ادبی. اغلب برای توصیف چیزی که به طور موقت غیرفعال است، نه لزوماً خواب انسان. 'آتشفشان خفته' یا 'احساسات خفته' اما معمولاً 'کودک خفته' خیر.
Formal/Literary. Often used to describe something temporarily inactive, not necessarily human sleep. 'A dormant volcano' or 'dormant feelings' but not typically 'a dormant child'.
