تفاوت با واژههای مشابه

Technical. 'Gluteus' (or gluteal muscles) refers specifically to the muscles of the buttock, used in medical or anatomical contexts. 'Buttock' is the common, everyday term for the external fleshy part. You might hear 'strengthen your glutes' in a gym, but 'He fell on his buttock' in general conversation.

Informal/colloquial, also used for animals. 'Rump' is often used informally for the human buttock, or more commonly, for the hindquarters of an animal. It can sometimes carry a slightly less polite connotation than 'buttock'. 'A roast rump of beef' is common; 'He landed on his rump' for a person is informal.
