رایج، توصیفی. برای منحنیهای عمومی که به سمت بیرون هستند قابل تعویض است، اما 'convex' برای اشکال هندسی دقیقتر و فنیتر است. 'لیوان برآمده بود' درست است، اما 'لنز برآمده بود' دقت کمتری نسبت به 'لنز محدب بود' دارد.
Common, descriptive. Can be used interchangeably with 'convex' for general outward curves, but 'convex' is more precise and technical for geometric shapes. 'The glass was bulging' works, 'The lens was bulging' implies less precision than 'The lens was convex'.
