روزمره. در بیشتر موارد جایگزین irate میشود ولی عموماً عمومیتر و غیررسمیتر است؛ 'He was angry' خیلی رایج است، 'He was irate' رسمیتر و قویتر است.
Common. Interchangeable with 'irate' in most contexts but 'angry' is more general and less formal; 'He was angry' is very common, 'He was irate' sounds more formal or strong.
رسمی. از irate قویتر و شدیدتر است؛ برای تأکید روی عصبانیت خیلی زیاد به کار میرود. 'She was furious at the delay' مناسب است.
Formal. Stronger and more intense than 'irate'; used when emphasizing extreme anger. 'She was furious at the delay' fits well.
رسمی/ادبی. از furious هم قویتر و تقریباً نشاندهنده عصبانیت غیرقابل کنترل است؛ کمتر در مکالمه به کار میرود.
Formal/literary. Even stronger than 'furious', implying almost uncontrollable anger; less common in speech.
