روزمره/غیررسمی. 'جوشدار' پوستی را توصیف میکند که پوشیده از جوش (آکنه) است که اغلب کوچکتر هستند و ممکن است چرک داشته باشند یا نداشته باشند. 'چرکی' بیشتر به وجود ضایعات پر از چرک اشاره دارد که معمولاً با بیماریهای پوستی شدیدتر همراه است. 'یک نوجوان جوشدار' در مقابل 'راش چرکی'.
Everyday/Informal. 'Pimply' describes skin covered with pimples (acne), which are often smaller and may or may not contain pus. 'Pustular' is more specific to the presence of pus-filled lesions, usually associated with more severe skin conditions. 'A pimply teenager' vs 'a pustular rash'.

Formal/Medical. Refers to a wound or infection that is actively producing pus. 'Pustular' describes the appearance of pustules on the skin, while 'suppurating' describes the process of pus formation/discharge. A 'suppurating wound' may have pustular areas.
