تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. اغلب به معنای رابطه جزء به کل یا برابری بین نسبتها است. در بحث رابطه اجزا قابل تعویض است، اما ratios میتواند کلیتر باشد (مثلاً 2:1). The proportion of men to women صحیح است، the ratio of men to women هم درست است.
Common. Often implies a part-to-whole relationship or equivalence between ratios. Can be interchangeable when discussing the relationship of parts, but 'ratios' can be more general (e.g., 2:1). 'The proportion of men to women' works, 'the ratio of men to women' also works.

'The ratio of speed to time' could be expressed as 'the rate of speed'.
