تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. عمل اعتراف به اشتباه. اگرچه با شروینگ مرتبط است، اما فقط بخش توبه کننده را پوشش میدهد، نه عمل آمرزش توسط کشیش. 'مظنون در حال اعتراف به گناهانش بود.' این کلمه شامل آیین مذهبی آمرزیده شدن توسط یک روحانی نیست.
Common. The act of admitting a wrongdoing. While related to shriving, it only covers the penitent's part, not the priest's act of absolution. 'The suspect was confessing his sins.' This doesn't involve the religious ritual of being shriven by a cleric.
