تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
روزمره. از نظر معنا بسیار نزدیک و اغلب قابل تعویض هستند. 'Supposition' گاهی اوقات میتواند به یک فرض آزمایشیتر یا فرضی اشاره کند که اغلب در زمینههای رسمی یا علمی استفاده میشود. 'Assumptions' در مکالمات عمومی رایجتر است.
Everyday. Very close in meaning and often interchangeable. 'Supposition' can sometimes imply a more tentative or hypothetical assumption, often used in formal or scientific contexts. 'Assumptions' are more common in general conversation.

Formal/technical. A proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation. 'Hypotheses' are generally more structured and scientific than 'suppositions'.
