تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. اغلب با 'whether' در بیان یک شرط یا امکان، به ویژه در گفتار غیررسمی، قابل جابجایی است. 'Let me know if you can come' عموماً با 'Let me know whether you can come' قابل جابجایی است، اگرچه 'whether' اغلب به معنای انتخابی بین دو گزینه واضح (بله/خیر) است. 'I wonder if it will rain' صحیح است، اما 'I wonder whether it will rain or not' گزینهها را به صراحت بیان میکند.
Common. Often interchangeable with 'whether' when expressing a condition or possibility, especially in informal speech. 'Let me know if you can come' is generally interchangeable with 'Let me know whether you can come', though 'whether' often implies a choice between two clear alternatives (yes/no). 'I wonder if it will rain' works, but 'I wonder whether it will rain or not' explicitly states the alternatives.
