Everyday. Pertaining to irony, where the actual meaning is the opposite of the literal meaning. 'Wry' often describes the delivery of irony (a wry tone, a wry smile), while 'ironic' describes the nature of the situation or statement itself. 'It was ironic that the fire station burned down' refers to the situation, not necessarily the humor. 'He delivered a wry comment' refers to the style.
