روزمره. یک اصطلاح خنثی از نظر جنسیت برای فردی که یک یا هر دو والدین مشترک با دیگری دارد. 'Siblings' میتواند جایگزین 'brothers' شود اگر جنسیت بیربط باشد یا شامل خواهران باشد. 'چند خواهر و برادر داری؟' درست است، اما 'او دو خواهر و برادر دارد' اگر هر دو مرد باشند، کمتر از 'او دو برادر دارد' مشخص است.
Everyday. A gender-neutral term for a person having one or both parents in common with another. 'Siblings' can replace 'brothers' if the gender is irrelevant or includes sisters. 'How many siblings do you have?' works, but 'He has two siblings' if both are male is less specific than 'He has two brothers'.
رسمی/کهن. به خویشاوندان مرد اشاره دارد، به ویژه در یک قبیله یا عشیره. بسیار رسمیتر و قدیمیتر از 'brothers' است. 'او خویشاوندان خود را برای نبرد جمع کرد' درست است، اما 'خویشاوندان من برای شام میآیند' امروزه غیرطبیعی به نظر میرسد.
Formal/archaic. Refers to male relatives, especially within a clan or tribe. Much more formal and dated than 'brothers'. 'He gathered his kinsmen for battle' works, but 'My kinsmen are coming for dinner' sounds unnatural today.

روزمره/غیررسمی. یک اصطلاح دوستانه یا غیررسمی برای یک مرد یا پسر، یا عضوی از یک گروه. برای اعضای یک سازمان برادرانه قابل جایگزینی است. 'رفقای من در باشگاه' درست است، شبیه به 'برادران من در باشگاه'.
Everyday/informal. A friendly or informal term for a man or boy, or a member of a group. Can be interchangeable for members of a fraternal organization. 'My fellows in the club' works, similar to 'My brothers in the club'.

Formal. People with whom one works, especially in a profession or business. More formal and specific to professional relationships than 'brothers'. 'He respects his colleagues' works, but 'He respects his brothers at work' is less common unless a very close bond is implied.
