رسمی. به شهر بزرگ و مهمی گفته میشود که معمولاً بزرگتر از پایتخت است. پایتخت همیشه مرکز حکومت است اما کلانشهر ممکن است نباشد.
Formal. Refers to a large important city, often larger than a capital. Not fully interchangeable — a capital is always a center of government, a metropolis might not be.
