تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. در موارد عمومی درباره ترس جایگزین مناسب است ولی ممکن است ملایمتر باشد و ضعف اخلاقی نباشد.
Common. Interchangeable with 'cowardice' in general contexts describing fear, but 'fearfulness' can be milder and not necessarily imply moral weakness. E.g., 'He showed fearfulness in battle' vs 'cowardice in battle'.
رسمی/غیررسمی. وقتی ضعف و کمبود اعتماد به نفس مدنظر است جایگزین است ولی بار منفی کمتر دارد.
Formal/informal. Can replace 'cowardice' when emphasizing shyness or lack of confidence, but less harsh. 'His timidity stopped him' vs 'His cowardice stopped him'.
