تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی/ادبی. به کنترل یا حاکمیت بر یک قلمرو یا مردم اشاره دارد. هنگام تاکید بر قدرت و حکومت، قابل تعویض است. 'قلمرو پادشاه گسترده بود' درست است، 'حضرت لرد رسیدند' از 'dominion' استفاده نمیکند.
Formal/Literary. Refers to control or sovereignty over a territory or people. Can be used interchangeably when emphasizing power and rule. 'The king's dominion extended far' works, 'His Lordship arrived' does not use 'dominion'.
رایج. قدرت یا حق دستور دادن، تصمیمگیری و اجرای اطاعت. در مورد جنبه قدرت قابل تعویض است، اما نه به عنوان یک عنوان. 'او با اقتدار صحبت کرد' درست است، 'اقتدارش گفت...' به معنای 'حضرت لرد گفت...' نیست.
Common. The power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. Interchangeable when referring to the power aspect, but not as a title. 'He spoke with authority' works, 'His authority said...' does not mean 'His Lordship said...'.
