تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی/دانشگاهی. مشخصا به نمادهایی (۰، ۱، ۲ و غیره) که برای نمایش اعداد استفاده میشوند، اشاره دارد. در زمینه فنی یا آماری ممکن است با 'numbers' جایگزین شود، اما در گفتار روزمره کمتر رایج است.
Formal/academic. Refers specifically to the symbols (0, 1, 2, etc.) used to represent numbers. Can be interchangeable with 'numbers' in a technical or statistical context, but less common in everyday speech. 'The financial figures were alarming' works, 'Count the figures' is less natural than 'Count the numbers'.
فنی/ریاضی. به نمادهای منفرد از ۰ تا ۹ اشاره دارد. وقتی تأکید بر نمایش تککاراکتری باشد، میتوان به جای 'numbers' استفاده کرد. 'The phone number has ten digits' درست است، اما 'I saw many digits of cars' غلط است.
Technical/mathematical. Refers to the individual symbols from 0 to 9. Can be used instead of 'numbers' when emphasizing the single-character representation. 'The phone number has ten digits' works, 'I saw many digits of cars' does not.

Everyday. Directly interchangeable when referring to the act of tallying items one by one. 'She counts the books' is the same as 'She numbers the books' if numbering implies counting them. Less formal than 'numbers' in some contexts.
