«محل سکونت آنها نزدیک مرکز شهر است.»

روزمره. زمانی که درباره محل زندگی فرد است در زبان غیررسمی یا محاورهای قابل جایگزینی است. مثلاً «او خانهاش را ترک کرد» در برابر «او محل سکونتش را ترک کرد».
Everyday. Interchangeable with 'residence' when referring to someone's living place in informal or neutral contexts. For example, 'She left her home' vs 'She left her residence.'
رسمی. در زمینههای حقوقی یا اداری بیشتر به کار میرود و در مکالمات روزمره کمتر استفاده میشود.

معمولی. وقتی روی عمل سکونت تأکید شود جایگزین residence میشود. مثلاً «سکونت در یک شهر» در برابر «زندگی در یک شهر».

رسمی/فنی. بیشتر به صورت انتزاعی و حقوقی به کار میرود و در گفتار روزمره کم استفاده است.
Formal/technical. More abstract and legalistic, often for places where people live but rarely used in everyday speech.
