تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
روزمره. «شاکی» کلیتر است و فقط به معنای کسی است که شکایت میکند، بدون اینکه لزوماً لحن جیغجیغو یا آزاردهنده «غرغرو» را نشان دهد. اگر لحن نکته اصلی نباشد، میتوانید «whiner» را با «complainer» جایگزین کنید. «او در مورد هر چیزی غر میزند» لحن آزاردهنده را نشان میدهد، در حالی که «او از خدمات شاکی است» خنثیتر است.
Everyday. 'Complainer' is more general and just means someone who complains, without necessarily implying the high-pitched or annoying tone of a 'whiner'. You can replace 'whiner' with 'complainer' if the tone is not the key aspect. 'She's a whiner about everything' implies an annoying tone, while 'He's a complainer about the service' is more neutral.
غیررسمی. به عمل شکایت کردن یا شخصی که دائماً شکایت میکند، اغلب در مورد مسائل بیاهمیت، اشاره دارد. دارای بار معنایی منفی مشابهی است اما بیشتر بر ماهیت مداوم شکایت تمرکز دارد. «بس کن این گله و شکایت را!» درست است، اما «او یک griping است» نه.
Informal. Refers to the act of complaining, or a person who complains persistently, often about trivial matters. It has a similar negative connotation but focuses more on the continuous nature of the complaining. 'Stop your griping!' works, but 'He is a griping' doesn't.
