تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. معمولاً با damp قابل تعویض است اما moist لطیفتر و کمتر منفی است، مثلاً 'moist soil' طبیعی است ولی 'damp soil' ممکن است ناخوشایند باشد.
Common. Usually interchangeable with 'damp' but 'moist' often has a gentler, less negative connotation, e.g. 'moist soil' sounds neutral, while 'damp soil' may suggest unpleasantness.
روزمره. wet یعنی خیستر از damp؛ همیشه جایگزین نیست. مثلاً 'wet clothes' خیس شده ولی 'damp clothes' کمی نمناک است.
Everyday. 'Wet' implies more water than 'damp'; not always interchangeable. 'Wet clothes' means soaked, but 'damp clothes' means slightly wet.
