تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی/حقوقی. اتهام رسمی توسط هیئت منصفه بزرگ مبنی بر وجود شواهد کافی برای محاکمه کیفری. 'کیفرخواست' برای اتهامات کیفری علیه هر فردی است، در حالی که 'استیضاح' به طور خاص برای مقامات دولتی است و لزوماً یک فرآیند کیفری نیست.
Formal/Legal. A formal accusation by a grand jury that there is enough evidence for a criminal trial. 'Indictment' is for criminal charges against any individual, while 'impeachment' is specifically for government officials and not necessarily a criminal process.

Formal/Legal. The act of bringing an accused person before a court to hear the charges and plead guilty or not guilty. 'Arraignment' is a step in a criminal trial process, whereas 'impeachment' is the initiation of charges by a legislature.
