رسمی/ادبی. بر روشهای غیرمستقیم، زیرکانه و اغلب مخفیانه برای رسیدن به هدف تأکید دارد. در مورد دستکاریهای غیرمستقیم جایگزین میشود، اما manipulative گستردهتر است. A devious scheme درست است، اما She's devious with her children کمتر رایج است.
Formal/literary. Emphasizes indirect, cunning, and often underhanded methods to achieve a goal. Interchangeable when referring to indirect manipulation, but 'manipulative' is broader. 'A devious scheme' works, 'She's devious with her children' is less common.
